Extra experiences and services
"If you get the chance ask Maureen to guide you on her tour of local vineyards, including a typical lunch and you will not be disappointed."
(Richie & Claire - Chatham Kent, 2012)

Wine experience: Anyone booking a week's holiday in Les Deux Platanes can take advantage of a special wine tour package.

You leave at 10.15am on an accompanied chauffeured** tour of local award winning Touraine vignerons. (If you choose you can travel in your own vehicle). After a tasting visit to two award winning vignerons including a tour of the production facilities at one of the locations plus a visit up to the fields to view the vines you then travel to a small country restaurant for a relaxing four course lunch plus coffee including wine. (Normally eating with the vignerons and workers from the local vineyards!)

After lunch you continue with a further visit before returning to Les Deux Platanes at around 3.30pm. If you are travelling in your own vehicle you may then decide to visit a local historic village before returning to the cottage. From the vignerons visited you can taste and/or buy wines (white, rosť or red wine / still and sparkling of your choice by the bottle or container). Throughout the day Maureen will help you make the most of your time and provide all manner of additional information and explanation plus a personal introduction to the vignerons.

This exceptional offer gives you the opportunity to discover the hidden delights of the region and hopefully introduces you to some new tasting experiences that are far from typical of large tourist orientated vineyards. All of this is offered for a supplement of only 55€ pp (including all visits, lunch and personal guide for the day!) not including the cost of any wine bought on the visits. It is worth noting that wine from the vignerons is around 4, 50€ a bottle and 17€ for 5 Litres / 28€ for 10 Litres of excellent Gold Medal award winning Sauvignon Blanc.

** max 4 passengers travelling in chauffeured car. Minimum 2 persons per tour.
Note: we need a minimum of 24 hours' notice as we telephone the vignerons to arrange these private visits.
